MHBA Welcomes Jerry Rouleau

The Modular Home Builders Association of Maine recently invited a nationally acclaimed marketing guru to Freeport, where he discussed how builders can market their businesses more effectively and efficiently.
In response to challenges facing housing industry professionals, the MHBA invited Jerry Rouleau, who specializes in working with builders, housing companies and building product suppliers, to hold a workshop focused on specific marketing practices for the housing industry. Rouleau spoke on critical topics from how to discover business opportunities to why the latest technologies can increase sales.
Bob Bird, of Shoreline Home Sales in Thomaston, said Rouleau's seminars present him with new and exciting marketing ideas for his business.
“But more importantly, Jerry's seminars reinvigorate me,” Bird said. “After a long winter one can become complacent, and be a little less driven. Jerry [gets] the ideas and the enthusiasm flowing again.”
Drawing on his experience developing targeted public relations campaigns, Rouleau began the seminar by outlining the top 10 Principles for Survival in a Competitive Market and ended the day with Creating Traffic to Model Homes and Sales Centers. In between, he covered the Follow-up Skills that Bring Customers Back.
Judy Powell, of J. L. Powell Construction in southern New Hampshire, said that Rouleau's workshop helped redirect her focus on what is essential to survive in today's economy.
“I have a high level of dedication to my business and a passion for building, [but] it’s easy to lose focus on other important aspects when you’re managing everyday issues,” Powell said. “The workshop was [a] wealth of information which will help me work toward making my business more visible.”
Rouleau has been involved with the housing industry for more than 25 years. His special projects have been featured on the Today Show, in People magazine and USA Today, as well as on radio and TV stations.
