MHBA Benchmarks

As a member of the Modular Home Builders Association, we promise to adhere to these Builder Member Benchmarks:

• We shall subscribe to, abide by, and support the MHBA Code of Ethics.
• We shall maintain a professional business location with regular office hours, open 20+ hours per week.
• We shall maintain a current Maine Manufactured Housing Board license.
• We shall carry appropriate insurance including: Builder’s Liability and Worker’s Compensation insurance.
• We (owners and/or staff) shall earn a minimum of six (6) MHBA Continuing Education units (hours) every two (2) years.
• We shall have no unresolved “Orders of Correction” as imposed by The Maine Manufactured Housing Board.
• We shall utilize professional construction contracts as required by state law.
• We shall invite a representative from the Maine Manufactured Housing Board to conduct a courtesy home inspection once every two (2) years.
• All construction shall comply with applicable building codes.
• Workmanship shall comply with the NAHB’s “Residential Construction Performance Guidelines.”
